Reinforcing CoreLogic’s commitment to the community
We always say our future lies with the next generation. But how do you convince a bunch of first graders to care about the effects of natural disasters on the property market?
You show them McDonalds.
John Rogers, CoreLogic’s chief data and analytics officer, showed a crowd of first graders how CoreLogic’s Discovery Center provides insights for every location of the fast-food chain, explaining how this information is useful in the event of a natural disaster. He reinforced the importance for owners of understanding when their franchise or operation is in the path of a tornado, blizzard, or other significant weather event.
NextGen Invites the Future Generation to Imagine Innovation
This experience was one of many at the inaugural CoreLogic NextGen event, which brought nearly 100 kids, from first graders to twelfth graders, to the CoreLogic headquarters in Irvine for a day of STEAM-related activities. Held on Veterans Day, the event was kicked off by one of CoreLogic’s veteran employees, who explained how his time in the military impacts his career today, along with a moment of silence for our fallen heroes.
Following the presentation, the lawn outside the CoreLogic office was abuzz with activity as employees and other technology partners hosted an Expo with booths from Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and partners such as Google, Salesforce, EPAM, and Oracle. Every booth representative invited the kids to participate in activities like paper airplane design, putting together blankets for local veterans, a building tour, or a visit to CoreLogic’s mobile Discovery Center.
With a group of employees’ kids and girls from our Project Scientist partnership, the event was designed to expose kids to new technologies, illustrate potential career paths, and reinforce the importance of imagination in innovation.
“We wanted to create an intentional environment for youth to experience the magic that happens when a commitment to technical innovation intersects with a commitment to community care and betterment,” said David Claussen, VP of sales engineering and NextGen lead. “What better way to inspire our kids than through cultivating a shared experience of learning, delight, and empowerment that mirrors what motivates and energizes us on a daily basis at CoreLogic.”
CoreLogic’s ongoing partnership with Project Scientist sparked this event which reflects CoreLogic’s mission to fuel thriving societies. While the participating kids may not understand this lofty goal at the moment, CoreLogic planted the seeds that will continue to grow as they develop into the leaders of tomorrow.

I loved meeting new people. The booths were so fun, especially the one about the map [Mobile Discovery Center]. It was so cool to see how a house went from rubble after a tornado to a multi-million-dollar house. Overall, I really hope I can go again.
