U.S. annual single-family rent growth was 2.8% in December 2023 according to CoreLogic’s monthly Single-Family Rent Index (SFRI). This was the highest rate recorded since the summer but generally in line with pre-pandemic numbers. More expensive rental markets saw some of the highest increases, led by San Francisco at 6.2%. CoreLogic expects that national year-over-year rental cost growth will stay between 2% and 4% throughout 2024.
